Censorship on the internet.
by Lachlan on December 13, 2008
Today there were protests all around Australia against the Australian government's proposed clean feed censorship of the Internet.
The clean feed will have illegal content blocked, where the list of illegal material is not provided to the public under FOI (Freedom of Information), and remains hidden. This has the potential to be abused by small radical parties such as Family First to have content that does not align itself with the party agenda to be blocked in order to win controlling votes on other bills.
What do you think about institutional censorship on the Internet and it's role in a democracy?
